I wrote this song almost a year ago. I had it recorded about 7 months ago. Mikey's Song is a song about my cousin Mikey who passed away after being a paraplegic for over 30 years. This occurred after being in a tragic accident when he was 7 years old in which the car he was riding in was hit head on by a drunk driver. There were 6 deaths in the accident including Mike's brother Duke as well as their aunt and two cousins. The driver of the other vehicle was also killed along with one of his two daughters that were in the car with him. I'm not going to go into detail about the accident, I only had the pleasure of knowing Mikey, as this accident was years before I was born. I only knew him as a paraplegic, But I grew up with stories and memories and grew to learn his personality through his sounds and facial expressions. This song my adaptation of Mikey's final words to his family who sacrificed so much and stayed by his side from day one.
